Chicago Half Marathon Giveaway!!!

the fine people at Chicago Half Marathon have graciously given me the opportunity to giveaway an entry into the 16th Annual Chicago Half Marathon on September 9th.

i have a biased opinion on loving this race because it was my first half marathon in 2010. 

here are the details:
what: Chicago Half Marathon 
when: September 9, 2012
where: Chicago...Jackson Park
the course is mainly on Lake Shore Drive itself. 
there is pizza and beer at the end.
and medals, duh!
if you win, maybe we can run together and become running BFFs.

here's how to enter:
1. comment on this post and tell me anything. a joke, funny story, what your favorite race is, if you've run this race before, your dog's name. i don't care...just leave a comment.
2. for bonus entries, you can donate to my fundraising efforts for Team PAWS. i am running the Chicago Marathon this year and i decided to run for a charity, PAWS Chicago. every $5 you donate will garner you one extra entry into this giveaway. if you have previously donated, that donation amount will count, no need to donate again (unless you want to of course!)

this giveaway, for ONE entry into the 16th Annual Chicago Half Marathon, will remain open for TWO WEEKS. no more entries will be accepted after 11:59pm on July 13th (Central Time). the winner will be announced via blog post within the few days after. if i do not hear from you within 72 hours of posting the winner, i will chose a new winner. winner will be chosen by writing your name down on a piece of paper for the applicable amount of times and thrown into a hat and i will pick a name out. i do this old school style.

enjoyment




i'm now running 3 minutes and walking 2 minutes, for 3 miles. pain free! wahoo! that means my next run i can do 3.5 minutes of running and 1.5 minutes of walking for 3 miles. 

i have never been so happy to run and i've never ENJOYED a run so much than i did today. and it was nearly 90 degrees outside! 

welp, i best get back to going through my things and packing and tossing out stuff! moving day is the 24th!
any tips for living with your boyfriend? i need them!

look what i did!

yep, I RAN!

my physical therapist cleared me to run…2.5 minutes at a time! so i did intervals, 2.5 minutes running, 2.5 minutes walking, 6 times. then i was so high on those endorphins that i ran an extra round and walked a few more minutes. so i successfully completed the first official day of marathon training!

here’s hoping to completing many more days of marathon training!
