keeping track? that's 495 of each.
this is modified from Fit in Heels and she has pushups thrown in there too, between the crunches and planks, but i knew my arms were not going to make it, i think next time i do it, i'll do 99 seconds of pushups, etc until i work up to doing 99 pushups, etc.
2. I haven't run since the half marathon...two weeks ago. I am ok with that, but I will definitely be picking it back up a bit next week. I'd like to focus on speed for a little bit, but keeping some 6+ mile runs in there too. At this point, I'm not training for anything but I'd like to be half marathon ready at any given point.
3. Boyfriend and I are going to Scottsdale on Wednesday for a long weekend away. Many people have asked us "Why Scottsdale? There's like nothing there." To which we reply with "We wanted to go somewhere warm, our only goal was to go away and lay around by the pool/beach. Scottsdale was a lot cheaper to fly to than anywhere in Florida or California." Also, SUCK IT people. You don't make a funny face and ask why somebody is choosing to go there on vacation.
4. I have had the Hunger Games trilogy in my possession for a few weeks now and I haven't read them yet. One because I have so much crap to read for school I can hardly read a magazine, but also because I figured a round trip flight and laying by the pool for 4 days is the perfect time to read them.
5. Two weeks ago I got cast as Nurse Ratched in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. It will be performed the last two weeks of March at Harold Washington College. You local Chicagoans better be there. I am serious. And honestly, the actors are all great, so it's not going to be a crappy college play, I swear it. If you think so I will give you half your money back. Or buy you a beer.
6. I found this totally flattering photo the other day. I forgot about pictures from the Rock n Roll half...I wonder why....
this was about the last 20 seconds of the race and i was sprinting. the neck up is not a pretty sight, but let's all relish in the amazing form from the neck down!
7. I had a guest post a few days ago on the ffcheer blog and I think you should check it out. But if you don't want to, I'll condense it here for you. I'll give you a hint, it has to do with these guys...
Did you guess?
...
I signed up for the Chicago Marathon!!!
Not only am I running 26.2 miles, but I am also raising money for the animals above and thousands of others for PAWS Chicago!
If you don't know, PAWS Chicago is the first and only no-kill and cage-free animal shelter in the city. What does that mean? Well, they don't kill any of the animals due to overcrowding, etc AND none of the animals are kept in cages. It's kind of hard to tell but the cats are kept in super fun rooms with other cats, pillows, baskets, toys, etc. and the dogs are all in small rooms and they all have at least ONE friend to share the space with. It's pretty freaking awesome and I am super excited.
I totally think you should click the link above and donate a few bucks...I do hope to have some great giveaways coming up, so you could wait until then, but I'll give some extra entries to those who donate before I start the giveaway process. :) :) :)
....I mean, LOOK AT THIS FAAAAAAACE!
Tell me something. Anything. What did you do this weekend? Are you going anywhere? Training for anything? Got a good joke?
