Of course with a post saying goodbye to 2011 I had to post about how awesome 2012 is going to be…with goals, obvi!
My final semester starts in 2 weeks. In May, I will be walking across the stage (the Chicago Theatre stage!) receiving my Bachelors degree in Theatre Performance. Goal: Straight As, graduate with honors
My brother and sister in law are expecting the arrival of a little girl in late March/early April. This is going to be my first time being an aunt and I AM SO EXCITED! Goal: Be the best aunt EVER. I already knitted her 2 pairs of booties.
My best friend is getting married in May, shortly after my graduation. I am her maid of honor. Goal: Be the best Maid of Honor, EVER!
I love to read. I have loved reading ever since I learned how to read. Goal: Spend more time reading. Pretty vague, but simple.
I have a pretty nice body, but it could use a bit more work. I’m not good with the whole weight training thing. Goal: Slim down/tone up, take more bikram yoga and other various fitness classes. Also, make my fitness routine more of a priority. I let it fall to the wayside all too often.
Probably the goal I am most excited and nervous for is this one. Having run 5 half marathons, and 2 on schedule for this year, I feel like I am ready to tackle 26.2 miles. Goal: Start and finish the Chicago Marathon. Run, walk, or crawl, I don’t care how long it takes, I just want to start and finish. Completion is my goal, not time. Though under 5 hours would be nice.
So, that is it (for now, I might come up with more). I think they are very solid goals for the year, and I’m sure I’ll come up with smaller goals throughout the rest of the year.
What are your resolutions/goals? Let me know in the comments!

I'll be graduating in May too! It's so scary for me. Probably because I do not yet have a job lined up.
ReplyDeleteAnd my goal is to complete my first marathon too! Hopefully both of us will make it out alive.
eeeek! you have a big year planned! so exciting! yay for your first marathon! sooooo excited for you!
ReplyDeleteYou have a great year ahead of you!
ReplyDeleteWhich races are you doing? I'm sure we'll cross paths again. :)
My main running resolution is to remain healthy and listen to my body. (and not over do it to the point of injury)
Cheers to an amazing 2012!
Love those goals!! Love your outlook!! Here's to a MUCH better 2012 and the acheivement of our plans. While you are working toward 26.2, I'll be working toward 6.1. I know we can both get there. :-)
ReplyDeleteCheers!
