Saturday Read

This week's Saturday Read is The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson.

I picked up this book ages ago on a 'Buy 2 Get 1 Free' table at Barnes and Noble. It sat on my bookshelf for a while until I finally picked it up a few weeks ago. I'm kicking myself for not reading it sooner! The first 100 or so pages was a little slow for me but then I started reading it almost non-stop because the suspense and wanting to know what came next kept me turning the pages into the wee hours of the morning.

The very, very basic plot of the novel is Mikael Blomkvist, a journalist, gets hired to find out the truth of what happened to a girl who disappeared years ago. While researching and trying to figure things out, he hires Lisbeth Salander to help him in one part of the big picture. The closer they get to the truth the closer they get to death. There is obviously much more to the novel but I don't want to give away too much and I don't want to confuse all of you with the intricacies of the novel.

There is so much to this book that I can't even tell you more about it other than to go get yourself a copy...NOW! Library, bookstore, friend, however you can get your hands on a copy do it. You'll get past the sadistic sex part quickly...I promise.

New and Improved!

First of all, welcome to my new blog and thanks for reading!

My name is Nina, of RunningNina, a little baby running blog on the OnSugar network. I decided my blog wasn't what I wanted it to be and that I wanted a platform that is a bit more user-friendly for both myself and my readers. So here I am, on the blogger network!

What is run(dance)love going to be?

run(dance)love blog will be a compilation of many things. There will be posts about running, working out, not working out, some posts will be a funny video, I might even throw in a few posts about clothes I'm wearing if I feel like it. Basically, it will be a little bit of everything...except recipes, don't expect a lot of those since I don't cook often. Of course, I am more than happy to take suggestions for posts as well as answering reader questions in posts as well. So please, send questions to me @ kneenuh87[at]gmail[dot]com!

Why the name run(dance)love?

Good question! I wanted to keep my blog name RunningNina but it was taken on the blogger platform so it was time to put the thinking cap on. I started writing down things that popped into my head (some of those were bad!) and something made me think of Eat, Pray, Love. From there I wrote out some combinations of words and came up with run(dance)love. I run. I dance. I love. I guess essentially run(dance)love is my Eat, Pray, Love and Live.Laugh.Love. Running is hard work and takes dedication. Dancing is a fun way to let loose. Love is love, and you should love something, even if it's yourself.

Do you work in the fitness field? Are you an 'expert'?

Nope! I did work in a high end gym for 3 years, but that was at the front desk. I do have plenty of knowledge and experience with working out and fitness and exercises however, I am NOT an expert. I have no certification, I'm not studying health/science/fitness/nutrition in college, and I am not here to be your trainer. I will write about my experiences with things but that doesn't mean it will work for you. We are different people after all!

So...what are you studying in college?

I'm currently working on my Bachelor degree in Theater Performance. I have an Associate in the Arts and I took classes for 2 years at Second City here in Chicago. In the same classrooms that many famous funny people studied in years ago...being taught by people who studied and performed with them. Think Steve Carell, Chris Farley, Bonnie Hunt, Jim Belushi, Tina Fey, Mike Myers, among the few.

Alright, enough of that. Again, welcome to my blog, I'm super excited about it and I have some great ideas and formats and I can't wait to share with you all! Leave a comment below and let me know what you think and if you've got any questions!
